It's 2016!!! Yay!!! That's right new year new you! We get it...
Now that you've created your #BestNine photos on social media did you get a chance to map out your 2016 goals too? Need some help? No problem! Most millennials choose goals that sound "good." For example save more money, lose weight, travel more, etc, but rule number one to goal setting is making sure that your goal is realistic enough to be put into action right away. Saving money and traveling are realistic goals but what did you plan out after writing those goals down? Did you create a budget? Did you write down at least 3 places you want to travel to and how you were going to get the money to travel there? The only thing stopping you from setting real goals is putting a plan into ACTION. So many NYE goals go unaccomplished because after January 31st everyone starts planning for Valentine's Day and forgets all about the new me. So here's what you will do. Create a list of 10 goals, that's right, 10. Then, next to each goal right down how you will accomplish them within 6 months (by June). Next, I want you to put at least one of the goals on your list into action within the first week of January. If one of your goals was to join a gym and start working out, instead of procrastinating to get a gym membership, I want you start with throwing away all the candy, Twinkies, and Doritos in your cabinets. Then I want you to create a grocery list of fruits, vegetables, and lean protein that you will buy for the week. Cleansing your personal space of the things that can deter your goals is the best step towards accomplishing the new year new you. For week two, I want you to research gyms that are close to your home and get the membership. Imagine how great you will feel after moving two steps closer to your goal within the first half of the month! You are on your own your way to greatness!
