For someone who spends their time interviewing others and sharing their stories it's always hard for me to tell mine. However, I am a recruiter by day and the Blogger being Myfreshmanyearoflife.com. I have always been interested in people's professional journey's especially their failure. As a society we tend to only focus on the ups and not so much on what experiences have brought people to achieve their best. The purpose behind my blog is embrace ones journey. The difference between college and “life” is that there’s no syllabus; there is no plan, and many of us are left with the daunting task of creating our own syllabi and formulating our own paths to success. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in International Studies from Fairleigh Dickinson University and later pursed my Masters in Public Relations from American University at 22. My first few months out of college I worked as a Communications Assistant for a non-profit organization and later switched my career into HR. My latest accomplishment have been being comfortable in my skin. I know it doesn't sound impressive but until you are comfortable with yourself you won’t be successful with what you’re doing career wise. With that being said I just ventured into the Vlogging world and I am very excited about it. Hopefully more of me can be on your computer screens giving advices and tips about career related topics. When I didn't step outside of my comfort zone, OMG! It HAUNTED me because I was worried about failing. For example my blog, that's something I have thought of doing for years. I kept making excuses and truth be told one night I woke up and said this is it I am not spending any sleepless nights worrying about " what happens if and all that jazz" and here we are two years later. : ). I am always moved when someone reaches out to me to let me know how an article inspired them.
My mind always has 1000 tabs open. So I am always thinking and working on projects. Lately I have been learning to go about them strategically, so yes there's new projects coming up, but I will keep it on the low low. However what ever it might be I will make sure I give it my best. My advice to everyone is whatever passion that makes you unique, quirky or weird pursue that wholeheartedly.
