"I am Fearless Because I Unleashed My Inner Boss And Created A Way To Empower Our Inner City Girls."2/5/2016 "Women in today’s society encounter stereotypes, mental abuse, and self esteem issues. Minority women in particular, encounter issues that need even more awareness. If I can make a difference in one girl’s life I have accomplished something amazing. OUR girls need empowerment and mentoring from influential women who can guide their path
towards success." -Amanda Onibudo (IG: @heyy_mandyy). Fearless diva Amanda Onibudo stepped outside of her comfort zone and created an all girl's organization at Roberto Clemente Elementary School in Newark, NJ for 3rd and 4th graders. Her goal is to inspire young minority girls in inner city communities to become fearless, inspirational leaders. The purpose of Empower Our Girls is to uplift, encourage, and inspire young girls to become leaders, role models, obtain higher standards for themselves and others, and aspire to become college graduates. "I achieve this purpose by working hands-on with these amazing girls, and teach them the importance of being confident, educated, well rounded, and an inspiration to their family and friends." Amanda leads discussions and activities with the girls Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. Tuesdays are an introduction to the lesson, and Thursdays are for interaction with one another through activities and group projects based on what the lesson was that week. Topics range from self-image, leadership, respect, mental and emotional health, physical hygiene, career building, and empowerment. Guest speakers come in and speak with the girls about personal topics such as menstruation, metal and physical abuse, career development and more! Thank you Amanda for creating an outlet for young girls to rise and become the women we know they can be! Congrats on being FEARLESS! If you know someone who should be our Fearless Friday Spotlight of the week email us at contact@unleashyourself.org
