Women's Empowerment Brunch
In collaboration with The W.E.L.L. Network
Hosted by Amira Onibudo, FOUNDER OF UNLEASH YOURSELF & tahnia Hawkins, Founder of The W.E.L.l. network
Stereotypes, words attached to negative connotations, social media insecurities, gender biases, the generational gap, cultural division, and sexual contradictions will all continue to impact the community at large if we do not actively seek change. It all starts with a thought. Thought leads to conversation, which consequently brings forth action for change. The dynamic of the division created by society will grow smaller over time if we continue to ignite new waves of thought in others to bring back to the community. In order to overcome stereotypes, we must not become them. Girls compete, but we as women, we empower one another.
The Women's Empowerment Brunch tackled controversial topics ranging from societal terms such as the "B" word, thot, "good hair," trophy wife, and ratchet. The event also discussed how women are portrayed in the media and how to overcome those stereotypes. Gathering women in the same room from different age groups, backgrounds, and ethnicities sparked an array of conversation that enabled new perspectives & ideas to be developed and discussed.

Reviews:
I didn't think this event was for men being that all the panelists were women but I was so wrong. The entire event was outstanding, motivational, inspiring, and thought provoking. I couldn't believe this was their first event. I was completely blown away by the panelists and the host. -Malcolm, Camera Operator
The panel moderator literally asked every question I was thinking. I was so inspired by the panelists and the event as a whole. I left with new contacts, and a new perspective. -Marcelle, Editor & Founder of CLassIs Magazine
